Town players were not approached as Athletic were trying to build bridges with Town and didnt want it to look like they were being opportunistic vultures praying on the carcass of a recent kill….

Athletic did it out of a sense of fairness to Town and by doing so Whitby and Pickering got first dabs on their best players….

By the looks of it we might aswell not have bothered as they are gonna off and play in the Teeside league (not sure who is gonna play or manage as both Mitch and team seem to have gone) but that is upto them I guess….

Makes a mockery of their claims they were doing what was best for football in the Town though……They were and still are doing what is best for them personally.
