NEW RECORD: 12 consecutive competitive away victories by Malton Seadog User: Malton Seadog

Posted: 18/10/2017 at 11:04:42, 99 views.

9 in the league
2 in the FA Cup
1 in the League Cup

13 unbeaten in the league is our record, so we need another four for that, but I believe 12 consecutive away competitive victories is a record.

During 2008/09 (August to March) we went 13 games unbeaten in the league (12W, 1D), but lost four cup games away during that run (WST at Yorkshire Amateur, LC at Askern, NRSC at Stokesley, FAV at Bideford).
During 2012/13 (October to April) we went 13 games unbeaten in the league, but drew 5 of those.

In fact, we beat this record some time ago. In 08/09, seven consecutive away competitive wins was our best run, and in 12/13, I couldn’t find a run of more than 3 or 4.

Finally, yes, I have too much time on my hands.

was the one where the minibus got no further than Gargrave due to traffic/accident/diversion, we lost 4-0 anyway, and then to top it all off England ‘crashed’ out of the Rugby World Cup in the evening.

great to get the win by filey1

Posted: 18/10/2017 at 07:23:05, 105 views.

Ok, it’s a minor cup, but it was against the codheads! Thought we looked second best in the first half, and Whitby looked strong, especially the ginger lad and their no. 11. It was the changes that took place which gave is the win I think. Simpson, Logan and Valentine. Man of the match for me was Charlie Binns, impressive for 90 mins. Matty looks out of sorts, think Stimpson should start on Saturday, and Binns. Hopefully, this win can kick start us again. When is the next round?

Well 365 we shall take that qualified compliment for the Celts.

We also scored in the first half (at 0-0) that was chalked off for offside. Dunno if the ref got it right or not, as I haven’t travelled up.
We had q a weakened side out too - rested 3-4 of the regulars. Looking at their side I would say they had rested a couple also.

Without Wally (up front) & G (in goal) I am fairly happy with an away draw at 2-2. Looks like our manager is more focussed on the league this season, which I’m fairly happy about. Good for Boro that they got a late winner at sh1tby. I attended the FA Cup game there in 2002(?) when they won & got the manager sacked.

Ah right, Malton. Just shows how time drifts along. Was it Tommo who got the flick? I always rated him as a player. These days, if he was 30, he’d have got 20 Englund caps under his belt, as an English top-flight regular. Most who manage to be regulars in the Prem lge are getting international caps now.

it can’t be “cup games", as it’s 5 in a row, and it can’t be “defeats" as it’s 2 in a row, and it can’t be “wins on grass this season" as it’s 8 in a row, so it’s anyone’s guess.

at the time of posting we were still losing 1-0 which would have made 3 defeats in a row. Little did Fish bowl allow for Boros fighting qualities & away form of still 100% in all comps.

the way I saw it, the broadcast was live from Hyde but then for the actual draw they cut to another studio in London where the draw was made, hence the small picture in the corner of the Hyde players “celebrating" their draw, rather than the camera just panning to a different part of the room!

So even if the broadcast was from FLS the draw would still have been from (Wembley I think)

If the kids are accompanied, they’ll be fine. It’s a bit of a rubbish move by our board with very little support because of some dodgy behaviour, at Middlesbrough, last season. Not fair on under 16s in my view, but just make sure they’re with an adult and I’m sure they’ll get in.

I was thinking about the under 16s FREE but MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult..How many Boro youngsters turn up without an adult? I go and watch Whitby when Boro are not at home and didn’t know about this until I was going through there web-site tonight. Some could get turned away after traveling tomorrow night.

For those that missed it…. by Armchairdog User: Armchairdog

We got a mention 3 times. Paddy Miller and the Hyde manager were both interviewed and they showed the two goals from Saturday courtesy of SAFC TV. They also interviewed the Ossett Town manager. Some good coverage for the EVO Stik league.

I suspect the BBC were hoping for South Shields to beat Hartlepool as there was just as much coverage of that game (even though Shields lost).

for us at Home not much of a by Old Git

money spinner as we have a limited capacity of 2,000+
So we would need an away draw against a well supported team.
Home draws suit us in preliminary rounds.

I think i would of prefered to still be in it than out of it home or away. It could of been switched if both parties agreed

If you get £250 from You’ve Been Framed for a grainy 5 second clip of your Uncle Bob’s latest DIY disaster then SAFC TV should get a 4 figure sum for their footage!

Not losing any sleep over that one. Would obviously prefer it to be us, but at least it’s not a big game away from home, Blackburn or similar.

It would of been what number Hyde are as all teams were given a number prior to saturdays game.

Correct, we’d have been 61 as we were the 13th tie out of the hat in the last round, and the 48 league one and two clubs are in alphabetical order.
