What a signing by the club. Top marks.

Keeps Coulo here and if someone wants to come in and get him they’re going to have to pay! Unlikely around these levels.

Excellent news, well done to the club for taking a decisive step to secure our best player, and to Coulo for making the commitment - it’s great that a local boy with such talent, and the capacity to play at a higher level has committed to his local team.

Sat 28th Oct by Athletico Seadog

Posted: 11/10/2017 at 07:32:14, 131 views.

As this is now a blank sat atm i wonder if it is worth trying to get a fixture brought forward for that date as we have sone unscheduled games but with teams who do have fixtures on that day. The rearanged Colne gane in march could maybe be brought forward and slot a bamber or droylsden at home in march? Be nice to have as many sat home games as possible even though our midweek attendances have massively improved. Or would others prefer a sat off?

Bamber Bridge can go top of the league tonight. by Malton Seadog User: Malton Seadog

Posted: 10/10/2017 at 18:50:11, 67 views.

They play away at struggling Colne in a local derby. A win would give them 29pts from 12 games. This would send them 2pts clear, but Shields would have 2 games in hand on them, and Boro would be 7pts behind them with 3 games in hand.

Re Matty Turnball by steve0337

Firstly let me say that Matty is a very decent player..More times than not, for me he has had outstanding games. However, I have noticed that against the better attacks he can get stretched a tad. But let me say this, he would be one of the first names on my team sheet..He is still learning his trade. He will get better and better..On Saturday he maybe should not have played having barely got over a bad dose of flu. If it had not been a big game he may well have been rested.
On paper, our back four looks very good. Maybe right back is up for grabs. Jack is certainly one to be brought on. But, having said these teams get through to them with ease and cause to be something bordering panic. So is the problem in midfield?. Again we are maybe the right player light there.. We do lack a Chris Bolder type player. Someone that does the ugly work.
The attack is yet to be resolved also. Nathan may well be the answer to that problem. Clarkson is one I am looking forward to seeing back. Coulson is just incredible. We have a very decent squad, just lacking a couple of quality players to finish the jigsaw. Cadman surely deserves his chance now. He is a very decent player and has been very patient.
Then we have Jimmy. he could well be the answer in midfield, his rightful position. He is a fighter, a great tackler and very definitely a presence. We are a very, very good team. Saturday was a major disappointment in the way we capitulated. The defeat I expected.
Not many teams will beat us this season, but we must keep our heads in front of the likes of Hyde and Glossop.
See you all Saturday.

To my mind he was below his ‘best’ earlier in the season before the birth of his child, then got back to his best, but on Saturday after his bout of flu was below his best again, and was taken off, but hopefully that was the reason because we need our dream team of Hewitt and Turnbull firing on all cylinders on Saturday if we’re to stop Hyde.

Matty is a very decent cb and to come back in against a very good SS team was a tough ask. He probably needed that 60mins to shake the rust off and tbh wake up before this sat. I expected a defeat sat and told myself not to be dissapointed too much if we got beat. Yet again after defeat similar to the game in the league against SS i felt a little dissapointed in the fact that more than half of our team did not perform as we know they can. Hyde will not be much weaker and will be 100% up for it so we can not freeze or have the foot off the gas this sat or we all will be thinking of a wasted opportunity of being in the hat for the 1st round proper.
C mon boro!

I think it has taken Matty more time than most to adapt to the new surface, and with his baby and illness, he has had a ‘bitty’ start to the season….but his performances in Bridlington last season were outstanding, he is still a young lad, and he has all the raw ingrediants to be a brilliant centre - half, also could easily get 8 - 10 goals a season with his head, as he is such a threat from corners. I know he had chances to leave and play higher in pre - season but chose to stay. I think a run in the side and a growing relationship wth Sam will help his positional sense and woula also be one of my first names on the teamsheet.

guys.

we have had the best start to a season probably ever and furthest in the FA cup ever,

we dont have any bad players really.

South Shields have all the money and the location to get really good players from Gateshead, Darlo, Blythe, Newcastle and Sunderland they’re gunner win the league no doubt. dont care either, theres a second auto place this year.

as for Matty, he is quite easily our best defender by a long way, yes he gets exposed but thats because he is stood on his own as others can sometimes let him down. but dont get me wrong he can do the same. If none of our defenders did that, they wouldnt be playing for us, they would be in conf, league 2 etc.

but the reason your memory is playing tricks on you is cos it was sooooo long ago!!

2013: Beat Prescot, Stocksbridge and Cambridge City before going out to Telford

But then

2014: Boro 0-4 Darlington 1883

2015: Kendal Town 4-0 Boro

2016: Shaw Lane Aquaforce 2-0 Boro

2017: Boro 2-5 South Shields

So our last 5 FA Trophy games, including the Telford walloping, have seen us score two and concede TWENTY-ONE!!

avoid being segregated if you want to avoid a walloping.

Strangely yesterday’s game was also my first Trophy game attended since said Telford game, having missed the other 3 for various reasons. Sadly it was the same old story and the trophy jinx struck again.

Special mention for Coulson, I think he has got better every time he plays. Apart from his 16 goals, his positional play is superb, rarely loses a ball, passing spot on.
He can change a game in a flash, and is so adaptable.

Just hope the season doesn’t go pear shaped ( which actually I don’t think it will ) then he could be on his way, someone else is always around the corner to snare players at our level, Coulo is in the top bracket for me
