but somehow feel he is destined for bigger things. Pity, as his introduction coincided with our turn of form by no coincidence.

If it’s the same keeper as between the sticks Colwyn bay and Ossett games I’m not sure I rated him anyway. Flapped a lot at crosses and slow at distribution.

I wasn’t at the Ossett game unfortunately but was at Colwyn Bay and he seemed to do OK then. As for his actual overall record (3 goals conceded in 11 league games, of which two were away at the champions when he had probably never trained with the lads before let alone played with them), a brilliant penalty save to get the unbeaten run started, a worldy display at Mossley, and generally overall looking very competent throughout his time here, I’m afraid I would have to vehemently disagree!!

He had a bit of a moment at Colwyn Bay, happily at no cost. He tends to come for crosses, which is good, takes the pressure off the defence. If, at this level, you have a keeper who does try to get out to crosses, you’re bound to get the odd one dropped. He seems able to recover pretty quickly if he doesn’t get hold of the ball first time. I’d much rather have a keeper coming for crosses, rather than being rooted to the line. You can’t really argue with his record of clean sheets.
