hoki koki is our no 1 signing this close season. by totalshell User: totalshell

seriously though money seems to be talking as all these lads are turning there backs,, what surprises me though is the oft vaunted chance to play in front of large vocal crowds and this year in a brand new stadium means absolutely zero to these lads

this year more than ever we ve PSf against sheff utd L666ds and what will be cracking derbies yet ickle tadcaster rovers seem to have found comrade corbyns money tree and are giving it a mighty shaking and that seems to be calling like the pied pipers magic pipes..

still if these lads have no ambition other than play on a brewerys works pitch infront of a couple of hundred grandads.. good luck it ll be something to look back on when yer playing days are over and boast to your grand kids that you turned down boro for tad..

One of the 500 that was at Hunmanby, One of the 5000 that saw Shaun Chadburn bag our first goal and one of the 50000 who leapt in the air when Tommo netted against Tevie

Unfortunately, you can’t really blame them. by Malton Seadog User: Malton Seadog

Many of these lads will live in the Leeds/West Yorkshire area, and some of them are at the right age to have wives/kids.

If Scarborough come along and offer (for example) £150 per week, and then Shaw Lane or Frickley come along and offer £200 per week, they’re going to go there. Playing in front of a crowd is nice, but getting £200 extra a month to provide for a family is worth more in reality.

£50 extra, not £200. We’re not going to pay him anyway :p

£50 extra a week = £200 a month, no?

£216.66 a month which goes some way in paying a bill each month or saving for the holiday, these lads want to earn what they can when they can leave them to it, the lads coming to play for Scarborough may/may not get the same money but will hopefully have the full backing of the fans (so long as they are seen to be giving 100% each game).

unless they’re on contracts they’ll likely only get paid July/August to May, so not 52 weeks :)

absolutely but on the plus side, loads DO seem to have wanted to sign for us, including all those present on Saturday night, and they seem a committed bunch that I am sure SK will be able to get the best out of, along with his other “irons in the fire".

It’s hoped SK has double checked with the next player he hopes to sign has been of interest to Taddy and waiting to up there money.

Only last week a friend of mine said they had seen Geff Barmby’s name on our web-site and believed he still played for us and were hoping to make another signing soon. No one’s safe.

….that unless a player is on a contract, at our level, that we can’t officially sign anyone until 1st July. In effect during June players are unaffiliated. True/false?

True. Players cannot be officially signed until 1st July. Always makes announcing signings in June a trust-based procedure!

Can we start charging tadcaster finders fees for providing all their strikers. Third season in a row now

Nice gesture regarding Dave but apart from that I’m sick of Tadcaster

What it does show is that we have eleven days to go sniffing round players who have agreed “in principle" for other clubs. Might as well - it happens to us

I just think if they want to go then go now. Much better than a few games in. At least we know where we stand this way.

We have now lost another good player in Paul Robson who has gone to Barton town .

Robson was great for us- but he hasn’t played for a whole season and was already starting to look a bit leggy with his age. There’s no way he would have currently got in our starting 11, even if he hadn’t been our for so long
