Not sure what was more annoying, bamber time wasting or the sound of that bloody horn. Can’t see how it benefits the players, get rid!!

It’s there to really annoy the away bench. Keep it up, if it pisses you off it will piss them off more. Didn’t work today though

yeah, great logic, our bench is 10 yards away, to be honest it just annoys everyone, get rid! as for the dozen or so muppets behind goal who hurl abuse at opposition all game, it’s embarrassing.

We’re all a bit cranky after the defeat mate but have you never actually been to a game before? Someone blowing a horn and people shouting at the goal keeper and trying to put him off his game is pretty standard stuff.

If you think shouting abuse at players and officials is acceptable then you need to have a good look at yourselves. I was there yesterday and the behaviour of some people is nothing short of a disgrace. It’s my first post on here. This club is doing great things but we don’t need these idiots!

Tommy have you changed your name to Nam?

Self reflection never crossed my mind but now a guy on the internet under the name ‘Nam’ has suggested it to me I think I’ll start, thanks Nam, I think this could be a real turning point.

The question still remains, have you ever actually been to a football game before? I personally don’t stand shouting abuse, but I personally don’t care about the feelings of an opposition player within game time. Im sure he’ll cope

I’ve been to most home games. Yes I don’t mind a bit of barracking by fans but any sensible person would realise that some of these morons behind the goal are not doing the club any good at all. So what they pay their 10 pounds does not give them the right to behave like that! I remember the Cantona incident back in 95. How long before a similar incident here. It’s ok turning a blind eye but don’t say it couldn’t happen!

Must admit some supporters at home games let themselves down I saw a grown man screaming in a young lads face before telling the young lad to go get his dad and the two blokes squared up to each other couldn’t see what happened after as they disappeared behind the burger van near the boro gates

Ask yourself if there is ANY conceivable circumstance in which it is acceptable for an adult to approach an 8 year old child who he does not know and shout aggressively in his face, reducing him to tears?

Secondly ask yourself what you might expect to happen to a teacher or person of similar responsibility who did that and why you would expect that action to be taken?

Not everyone can be this silly but it is nice to see so many trying.

The incident with the guy telling an 11 year old to F off and go get his dad was probably the most embarrassing thing I’ve seen at a football match. What a fine example to your kids you are, no wonder they were upset

Agreed. I did see a bit of argy-bargy in the shed end soon after Bamber’s 2nd goal involving a few fans and a few stewards, but couldn’t make out what was going on. I didn’t see anyone shouting at a child, but am prepared to believe it happened if other fans saw it though.

Today’s game by Gabriel

Posted: 10/3/2018 at 17:59:50, 165 views.

Thought we were pretty average they came with a game plan to slow the game at every opportunity. They bullied a poor ref and there manager spent more time on the pitch than some of his players. All in all they looked like they wanted it a bit more than us today. Still all to play for but we need to be more ruthless

Not good enough! by Aylesbury Seadog

We had to win today and we’ve failed. We had the home advantage and hadn’t played for ages yet we still screw up. It’s not looking good: Hyde are opening up a gap now above us and I honestly can’t see them slipping up any time soon.

Apart from the win away at South Shields, our record against our nearest 3 rivals has been pretty poor. I still think we’ll go up but the fact we’ve largely struggled against the better teams must be a concern for SK if next season we move up to a stronger league. If you include the FA Cup and FA Trophy games against South Shields and Hyde then our record this season against other top 4 sides reads Won 1 Drawn 2 Lost 5.

Yep that is very true. But that’s us finished against the team’s around us. Hyde, BB and South Shields have games to play against each other. Unless the wheels where to fall off dramatically we are about 17 points clear of the playoff last place. We need to take each game as it comes. Don’t worry about cups even though Thornaby is Semi Final. Well that’s my thoughts.

Right now our biggest rivals for automatic promotion are Bamber Bridge and Corinthian Casuals. We just have to take each game as it comes - there are still 39 points to play for. Their 3rd goal really killed us as it came after a dominant spell by Boro when we were looking for an equaliser. After that, the 2nd goal turned out to be a consolation (or was it, you never know how crucial goal different might be)

True but then again you could look at it another way - the 4 games we’ve played against sides from a higher division (Workington, Whitby and Stratford x2) we’ve got 2 wins and 2 draws (in 90 minutes) which is unbeaten in four.

I guess it’s all about how the team plays (and the rub of the green) on any particular day.

Disappointing yes. Setback yes. Terminal debatable. I remember after Hyde defeat all panicking then winning 9 on trot. BB play Hyde twice and South Shields once I think, correct me if wrong so points dropped. Time for calm heads.Start again will run.

Wonder if Luke Dean will be fit by seadog365 User: seadog365

by Saturday. It would be very frustrating if he still wasn’t, given we’ve had an unwanted extra week off, but SK was suggesting it was touch and go in the paper.,

He’s been a big miss for us over the last few weeks, he’s just as vital to the team as the likes of Taylor, Gooda and Coulson are if not more, the position he plays is for me the most important role on the field, is involved in everything that the team does, defending and go forward collectively as a team, fingers crossed he’s back very soon as we are going to need him !

Someit like this is exactly what we need on the donkey field side. Maybe with some terracing.

100k flamingo land money and some government funding to match?

Seen a to have gone up quick too in time for their play offs

Article says £150,000, al raised by fans

A stand like that but terracing instead of seating would be awesome, and then if we need more seats in future then extend the main stand, which it was apparently designed to do

with the roof like that there doesn’t seem to be much protection
from the weather.
Wind & rain will make it feel as though you’re
out in the open
All stands should have transparent sides to improve the fans experience.

I’m guessing that due to the confines of our site things have to be carefully designed. Yeah? This is key to allow us to move up the leagues. You don’t want to build something which has to be altered in the future.

I agree. It looks more suited for use in the summer at an athletics track. Seating needs to be higher up to get a decent view. I’m sure we can do better than that.

The £150,000 is for the extension. The stand is now twice the length of the original structure; so around £300,000 for something like that.

That does seem very expensive?

Racism in English Football by lsm

Posted: 7/3/2018 at 21:08:04, 147 views.

Hi everyone,
I am currently conducting a research report into racism in English football and whether the rise of social media has caused a rise in racism. I would be very grateful if you could take a couple of minutes of your time to fill out this short survey for me please?

https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/XRM2SV8

Thanks and good luck for the rest of the season

No idea. Last year it was a Monday in May, but in the past it’s been Wednesday nights I believe and probably Tuesdays and has even been in pre-season the following season when held at the McStad.

Not sure, Heard a “rumour" that it would only be there if Midds weren’t in the final, but that could also be totally wrong!

“Indie” fans might like this one. It’s quite catchy after a few listens:

Maybe next time it’s pouring it down before a home match we could play this tune in the pre-match build up.
