re step 4 promotion by runningman

Posted: 4/4/2018 at 08:19:28, 221 views.

Just seen this on twitter Confirmation that Thurrock FC (Step 3) will disband at the end of season.

Step4: the losing playoff finalist with highest PPG will also be promoted

This would mean the play off final could be a waste of time as the side with highest PPG going into playoffs know they only have to win semi final to go up.

Maybe the team 2nd in the PPG table should be promoted too. Keep it competitive till the end. Plus I think this would lower our 92 points target

3rd place trophy: 92pts by Hungry Jose

Target remains the same, but some good results have pushed a couple of teams <90 max. South East now the league to watch, but Hartley and Cambridge have lots of games left, and play each other on Saturday. Looks like the target will be below 90 soon.

Potters bar W

Max points (games left)

Evo Stik N
Boro 97 (8)
Hyde 96 (6) won today (obviously)
Bamber 87 (7)

Potters Bar 85.8* (5) won today

Bostik S

Corinthians 88.6* (5) drew today
Cray 85.8 *(4) drew today

This will be interesting after Saturday then after the Hartley and Cambridge City game, and also with the Bostil leagues moving closer to their finish. And of course seeing what our result is

I presumed Hayes had won so that’s a bonus

Have you taken on the role of keeping us updated with this? I’m liking it

Two of our MASSIVE RIVALS for promotion, namely South Shields and Bamber Bridge have seen their games fall foul of the weather.

Obviously Hyde’s game at home will go ahead so that’s the main one to ‘worry’ about in this division, along with those games darn sarf.

If we’d been at home today and at Taddy on Saturday then we’d of had both matches on. How many away games have we had postponed now this season? We’ve had one home game called off but that was because they wouldn’t travel. I think now it’s best to have points on the board. Hyde are laughing now. The wettest weekends have fallen on more of their home games than ours

So far I think we’ve had the following away games postponed due to the weather

Colwyn Bay, Radcliffe (twice), Ramsbottom, Mossley, Tadcaster. Not to mention Marske about 3 times in the NRSC and the infamous Atherton v Bamber game which, while it didn’t involve us directly, still had a massive impact on us.

Looking at the Evo-Stik website I notice Wally is now listed in the top scorers for BOTH the Premier Division and Division One North.

That’s quite an achievement to be in the top scorer lists for two different divisions in the same season!

He’s scored 20 goals in the Prem division and 13 goals in the North division. So his combined total of 33 league goals puts him in front of 29 goals by Evo-Stik Prem top scorer Liam Hardy (Buxton), 31 by Evo-Stik South top scorer Liam Hearn (Basford) and 28 by Coulo in the Evo North.

As a protest I think boro fans should boycott consuming food or drink at the match. I think this aggressive stance by tadcaster is totally uncalled for!

Up the boro!

protest what? by snainton seadog User: snainton seadog

Being expected to behave at a football match?

Sadly if we have fans acting like dicks, this is the consequence.

I don’t agree with it so I won’t be spending my money within the ground.

These clubs are happy to receive the large takings from the Scarborough home games, but then bad mouth the Scarborough fans.

Joke decision in my opinion

Can’t have it both ways!

Either they set the rules before hand - and possibly lose out financially, or they take the money and moan after the event.

Surely they’re preventing exactly what you don’t like?

I have no idea, you’d have to ask the club that!

With our ground bring the Flamingo Land Stadium… by Dunno

couldn’t Flamingo Land build us some sort of small animal enclosure where the away end is? We could put soft toys in there for the relevant fans to play with and wire in some superfast WiFi so they could post their valued opinions on social media. It could be a portable one which the team bus could tow around the country to cater for indiscretions elsewhere.

I felt really embarrassed when I read that. Unfortunately I don’t get to the away matches. Are we really THAT bad?

The regulations apply to both sets of fans. Our away support would have been of football league equivalence in size and all of the above would reasonably apply to a FL game. Far better to be prepared than complain after the event of a lack of preparation.
