Squad by deep seadog User: deep seadog

I noticed a few missing last night and a 3 person bench, I am wondering if the missing were just unavailable or injured or have left. It seems a shame that despite having a successful youth set up we don’t seem to have and deemed good enough to be on the bench for a game against a village team ? I am wondering also how long it will take for the new manager to add to the squad,

I think it will be an ongoing process over the next 6-8 weeks in terms of addition to the squad. The issue is that unless it’s a loan, 7 days will need to be put in in order to bring the players in from other clubs. My bet would that there will only be 6/7 players from the current squad still here come end of Jan/Feb. In regards to the youngsters, I think it will help having a manager based locally who may be able to watch the odd u19’s game and keep an eye on the young players. I think he coaches young players for a profession at i2i academy, so may have a more vested interest in bringing youngsters through.

According to Mezza after the game, Josh Barrett was injured, Luke Lofts and Pete Davidson were both ill whilst Dom Roma had returned to his “parent" club.

Based on the squad on Wikipedia and assuming that’s up to date - that still leaves Harry Coates, Jordan Deacey & Chris Howarth

In the Staithes programme he answers some of this

Mentions Harry Coates that following an MRI scan he hadn’t fully recovered and they’re looking at a further two weeks
Jordan Deacey still awaiting news on when he can return to contact sport

Think I read elsewhere Chris Dawson was ill on the night (but don’t quote me on that)

Although, any of this could change now.

All still injured. Jordan Deacey will probably not return anyway as his dad paid his wages/expenses personally I understand.
Definitely looking forward to Harry Coates returning as I feel we have missed him.
